Now that the indoor season is completed it's time to get the club ready for the outdoor season. There are two work partys on the calendar for April 18th and April 25. The first date is the primary work date, the second has been schedule as a backup if we need it. The schedule has been updated with the WNYFAB shoots.
*We are in need of a Tournament director. The duties and responsibilities are to run the Sunday Shoots and keep the records for the for the year to determine club champions.
Looking forward to seeing everyone helping at the work party and participating in shoots throughout the summer.
Field Archery at Its Best
Rochester Bow Hunters (RBH) started in 1952 by local sportsman to provide an area to practice and enjoy the sport of archery. Their first property was a leased piece of land on the Barge Canal. A field course was laid out and in 1953 club officers where elected. Through the early years the club evolved and joined other archery clubs to form the Five Nations. In 1960 RBH became a non-profit corporation allowing the club to purchase, in 1967, the present home of RBH. The club held many shoots and continues to hold Field shoots on a regular schedule. The course is laid out in a wooded area of the property, we have 28 targets set out from 80 yds down to 20 ft. With the break up of the Five Nations RBH has joined the Western NY Field Archers and Bowhunters. This gives members of RBH more shooting opportunities and better competition against Archers of the Buffalo and Niagara Falls areas. Our membership fees are modest. Join us for the fun and come improve your skills as well.
Rochester Bow Hunters is a non-profit Archery Club
Rochester Bow Hunters (RBH) is a non-profit archery club and while RBH has been around since 1952 we were not incorporated until 1960. This was done so RBH club could purchase the property we now own. The land was purchased in 1967 and is 20+ acres. The field course is set in the wooded area of the property, with two full 14 target ranges. Future plans and hopes are for more tournaments to be held at our club.
